What is Pass Protection Plus?

Pass Protection Plus is our branded re-sit protection. It is designed for learners who prepare properly using the training access included with their Book Theory Tests package.

The idea is simple: if you complete the required preparation before your real DVSA theory test and still fail, we can book and pay for your next theory test re-sit.

This is not an automatic free re-sit for every failed test. You must meet the eligibility criteria before your actual test takes place.

Unlimited theory test re-sits if you qualify

Pass Protection Plus can provide unlimited theory test re-sits* if you fail and meet the requirements. This means you can have extra peace of mind when you have put in the work and completed the required preparation before test day.

To qualify, you must use your online training account and meet the required preparation targets before your actual DVSA theory test.

If the criteria are not met before the test, Pass Protection Plus will not apply.

Pass Protection Plus eligibility

To be eligible for a free theory test re-sit through Pass Protection Plus, you need to complete the required preparation in your online training account before your actual theory test.

The eligibility criteria are:

Score 90% or more in all topic tests before your actual theory test
Pass 10 mock theory tests before your actual theory test
Complete the required preparation in the online training account linked to your Book Theory Tests package
Take your actual DVSA theory test after meeting the preparation criteria
Provide the information needed to verify your failed theory test result if you make a claim

These criteria are in place so Pass Protection Plus supports learners who have shown they were prepared before taking their real test.

Pass Protection Plus may not apply if:

You did not score 90% or more in all topic tests before your actual theory test
You did not pass 10 mock theory tests before your actual theory test
You completed the criteria after your actual theory test rather than before it
You did not use the online training account linked to your Book Theory Tests package
You cannot provide the information required to verify the failed test result
Your claim falls outside the Pass Protection Plus terms and conditions

Is Pass Protection Plus a theory test pass guarantee?

Pass Protection Plus is sometimes similar to what learners might search for as a theory test pass guarantee, but it is important to be clear: it does not guarantee that you will pass your test.

No service can guarantee that you will pass the DVSA theory test. Your result depends on your preparation, knowledge, hazard perception performance and how you perform on the day.

Pass Protection Plus is re-sit protection. It gives eligible learners a free theory test re-sit if they fail after meeting the preparation requirements.

Why the eligibility criteria matter

The criteria are designed to encourage proper preparation before test day. Scoring 90% or more in all topic tests and passing 10 mock theory tests shows that you have made a serious effort to prepare.
